FOOD TECHNOLOGY

We have been studying ‘Foods for Celebration’ for Food Tech 1 and 2, hence we made ‘S’mores’.

“A s'more is a campfire treat popular in the United States and Canada, consisting of one or more toasted marshmallows and a layer of chocolate placed between two pieces of graham cracker or cookie”. Wikipedia

Instead of the ‘Graham cracker’ found in America, we used the good old Arnott’s ‘Milk Arrowroot.’ It is very easy to make and very messy to eat… but tastes wonderful.

It is a treat that you might like to make with your family over the summer holidays.

You don’t even have to do it over a campfire, you can do it in the oven like we did at school.

All that you need to do is:

  1. Place one biscuit on a baking tray with a marshmallow (halal of course) and bake on a moderate oven for a few minutes or until you can see the marshmallow getting soft.
  2. Then place a square of milk chocolate on top and add another biscuit on top of that.
  3. Put back into the oven for another couple of minutes.
  4. Once done, you can dust it with some icing sugar if you wish.

It is a delicious treat but be prepared to get your hands messy!
